I started experimenting with coffee during lockdown. At first I concentrated on little landscapes and the typical coffee cup pouring you can see online. I used water colour paper.
When the paper ran out I looked around for some other surface to decorate and found plates! I loved the way the coffee performed on the shiny surface . It was unpredictable and the colours were so rich and vibrant. I was hooked!
I progressed from abstracts to paintings of churches which now grace the beams in our kitchen.
Then I tried paintings on canvas. This was a completely different experience and I love the results which were mainly portraits.
But for the sheer fun of experimentation you can't beat the richness and unpredictability of abstracts on plates.
Watch the video . Give it a go.
